Waste Connections of Canada, the leader in non-hazardous solid waste management in North America is looking to hire an Accounts Receivable Clerk based in our London, Ontario facility.
We are looking for an innovative, creative and proactive individual who enjoys working in a team environment but also excels working at an individual level.
This position is responsible for ensuring that all customer accounts reflect all charges and payments accurately and timely.
Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivables’ data
Prepare invoices and bank deposits
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to the bank to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues
Investigate and approve/deny all the new customer credit applications in a timely manner
Calling of customers and arranging for payment of overdue accounts receivable
Make recommendations for allowance for doubtful accounts and bad debt write-offs within district guidelines
Continually review policies and procedures for automation and efficiencies
General office duties as assigned
A minimum of 2 years proven Accounts Receivable Experience
Advanced Excel Skills (very important)
Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration and/or working towards an accounting designation
Sound proficiency in Microsoft Office and Accounting software
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
