Waste Connections Diesel Mechanic in Fife, Washington
Murrey's Disposal , a Waste Connections company, has an immediate position open for a Full-Time Diesel Mechanic to work on our fleet of garbage trucks and trailers in Fife, WA . Mechanics interested in secure, steady employment are encouraged to apply.
The schedule for this position will be Monday-Friday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm.
Starting pay will be $34/hr with a $1.50/hr shift differential, totaling $35.50 per hour for swing shift mechanics.
Responsibilities Include:
Service and Repair Fleet of Garbage Trucks
Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services and repairs
Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times (Cummins, Davie-4, and Allison doc experience required.)
Laptop and Chassis Diagnostics
Test drive trucks after services and repairs
Ability to effectively communicate and understand service schedule and/or repairs
MIG Welding
General shop cleaning responsibilities
Equipment safety checks
Maintain and track service inventory
Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon
Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Qualified candidate must have:
3+ years’ experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair
Basic tool set, tool box and proper personal safety equipment as required
Basic computer skills and experience with test diagnostic laptop and software.
Class B CDL is preferred but not required.
Welding experience is a plus.
