Waste Connections Maintenance Technician in Carlsbad, New Mexico
Waste Connections has an immediate opening for a Maintenance (Shop) Technician for our Carlsbad, NM location. The Maintenance Technician spends their day assisting the Maintenance Department with administrative tasks, and shop work. This position is a full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
This position has about 60 to 72 hour work weeks. On top of competitive pay we off family benefits, 401k, vacation and year-round work.
PAY RANGE: $22-$25/hr.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gather, input, retrieve and maintain maintenance information in both computer and manual systems
Provide general clerical work to assure the smooth operation of the Maintenance Department while communicating with the Maintenance Manager
General clerical duties, including filing, photocopying, Scanning, posting of notices, and ordering of parts and supplies as directed
Develop and issue computer reports as requested
Assist with and/or prepare materials
Compile information such as identification of items, cost, vendor, freight charges, etc. for purchasing of all maintenance materials
Review documents for sufficiency and maintaining any necessary follow-up
Maintain all files and inventory records of all orders placed and received, including delivery time schedules
Utilize parts management software Excel, and other office programs
Maintain parts warehouse and inventories in accordance with Company policy
Demonstrates the knowledge and effective use of software applications. These systems should include as a minimum MS Word and Excel
Assist shop personnel with repairs/PMs on equipment
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Familiar with vehicle, hand/air/battery powered tools and equipment parts to assist shop personnel with equipment repairs
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and E-Mail, proficient in 10 key, keyboarding and typing skills a must
Excellent verbal communications skills
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
